Top five destinations of Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is a snow laden State of north India which is situated in the lap of the Western Himalayas surrounded by mountains. I am going to tell you about top 5 destinations of Himachal Pradesh.

1. Shimla

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It has an enchanting beauty. You can view the snow capped Himalayan ranges, beautiful greenery and lakes. You can visit Shimla in summer it will beat the hit. If you visit it in winter , you can enjoy snowfall and face the temperature below zero degree. Major attractions of the city is The Ridge, Mall Road ,Jakhoo hill . It is also famous for viewpoints, hill station, British Colonial Architecture.

How to Reach : You can reach Shimla by Air, Rail , Road.

Air : The nearest Airport is Jubbarhati, which is 23 KM from the town which has good connectivity from Delhi. Major nearest airport is Chandigarh which is around 113 Km .

Rail: The Railway station is 1 Km from the town centre. This has well connectivity with Chandigarh, Delhi and Ambala cantt.

Road:The road has good connectivity because Himachal Road Transport Corporation(HRTC) connects from Delhi, Pathankot, Chandigarh . NH5 and Delhi-Jammu road connects Shimla.

2. Kullu

Kullu is one of most beautiful destinations of Himachal Pradesh which is situated on the banks of Beas River. It was earlier known as Kulanpitha that means ” The end of the habitable world”. Kullu is also called the “Valley of Gods”. Bijli Mahadev temple and Raghunath temples are famous attractions. Kullu is famous for Great Himalayan Ranges, hill Stations ans the beauty of Nature.

How to Reach : You can reach Kullu by Air, Rail , Road.

AIR : Nearest airport which connects Kullu is Chandigarh which is around 270 Km away to Kullu from Chandigarh via road.

Rail : The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar(JDNX) which is 95 Km away from town but it’s a narrow broad gauge which is not accessible from major cities. Chandigarh is the major railway station from where you have to take bus or private taxi to reach the town.

Road:The road has good connectivity to Kullu because Himachal Road Transport Corporation(HRTC) connects from Delhi, Pathankot, Chandigarh . NH5, NH205 and Delhi-Jammu road connects Kullu.

3. Manali

Manali has an enchanted views of snow capped mountains which is situated at an altitude of 6726 feet. You’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of Nature here. You can enjoy sporting facilities also here. It is famous for Great Himalayan Ranges, Nature, Hill stations and adventure sports. Famous attractions are Hidimba Devi temple, Rohtang Pass and Solang valley.

How to Reach : You can reach Manali by Air, Rail , Road.

Air : Nearest airport which connects Manali is Chandigarh which is around 308 Km away to Manali from Chandigarh via road.

Pine trees, trees gardens along with snow coverd mountains gives eye catching views. You can find Tibetan refugees here . You can see Tibetans’ culture here. It is also famous for Tibetan Culture and Monasteries. Other major attractions are Tsuglagkhang complex, Namgyal Monastery.

How to Reach : You can reach Dharamshala by Air, Rail , Road.

Air : Dharamshala airport is 13 KM away from the city. It has good connectivity from all major cities.

Rail : The nearest Railway station of Dharamshala is Pathankot which is 85 kilometers away and it’s well connected to all major cities.

Road : The road has good connectivity to Dharamshala because Himachal Road Transport Corporation(HRTC) has regular buses from Delhi, Pathankot, Ambala and Chandigarh etc which connects to Dharamshala . NH503 and Delhi-Jammu highway connects to Dharamshala.

5. Dalhousie

Dalhousie looks stunning. It is famous for hill station , meadows, and Valley. Dalhousie was named after Lord Dalhousie who was the British Governer in 19th century. The hill station is spread across five hills. The land here has a wide range of vegetation which includes pine, oak and deodar. Major attractions of Dalhousie are Kalatop wildlife reserve and Dainkund peak.

How to Reach : You can reach Dalhousie by Air, Rail , Road.

Air : Pathankot is the nearest airport which is 75 kilometers away from the town. Tourists can take taxi or cab from there to go to Dalhousie.

Rail : Pathankot is the nearest major Railway Station which is 75 kilometers away from the town. Tourists can  take taxi or cab from there to go to Dalhousie.

Road : road has good connectivity to Dalhousie because Himachal Road Transport Corporation(HRTC) has regular buses from Delhi, Pathankot, Chandigarh etc which connects to Dalhousie . NH44 and NH 503 and Bela -Behrampur Road also connects to Dalhousie.

There are many other palaces in Himachal Pradesh which are mesmerizing. They are beautiful and situated in the lap of Nature. Words would be less but their beauty can’t be explained. Must visit these places to see Nature and her beauty from near.
